artistic mission

With three photos to be exhibited and sold in an upcoming art show in Albany, I thought it was important to begin drafting a mission / constitution for my work. The first draft is below:

Global

1. All works may be shared without my knowledge.
2. All works may be remixed, so long as I am aware.
3. If any commercial gain is made, that gain must be shared with me.
4. Attribution to me must always accompany distribution or exhibition of works or derivative mixes.

Photography

1. Only one dimensional representation of a photograph may be sold and must be labeled appropriately with my name, the date, the photograph’s dimensions, and the word “SOLD”. Id est, only one 8×10, one 5×7, etc.
2. Film negatives may not be copied or sold, but may be digitized.
3. No commercial gain can be made from digital photographs. Any commercial gain made from digital representations of film negatives must be applied to further creation of film negatives (e.g. supplies) or donated to a non-profit.

Music

1. No commercial gain may be made from digital distribution, unless distribution format is lossless.
2. Only one track from a completed album may be distributed independently from that album as a single. All works may be exhibited independently of a complete album.

Writing

1. All works may be distributed and exhibited in any form.
